Large 8vo (205x125 mm). 2 engraved frontispieces, titles with engraved vignettes (portraits). With 67 engraved vignettes and 16 full-page engravings after Gravelot and others (some spotting).
Contemporary full leather, spine in compartments, partly worn and damaged, red edges. First title with signature of John Drummond. Text with some spotting, offsetting from plates.
Later editions.
John Gay (1685-1732), most famous for "The Beggar´s opera".
