Contemporary full calf bindings, inner dentelles, boards with the gilt armorial device of Jaques-Auguste de Thou, richly gilt spines in compartments with the gilt monogram of his wife, red edges, worn, stained and damaged. Flyleaf cut. Spotting and foxing. 2 volumes.

Provenance: Jacques-Auguste de Thou (1553-1617, statesman and historian). As the work is printed a long time after his death, the coat-or-arms was probably used by his decendants, who owned the library after his death.
