Large 8:o. Folding lithograph map (some tears, minor foxing), extra inserted portrait of the author with dedication to Alex. Keiller (cellotape in right margin, some marginal tears),16 lithograph plates (all, 1 loose and damaged in the margins), minor foxing), and other illustrations.
Original decorated cloth, worn and somewhat faded, decorations in gold on covers (hippopotamus, rhinoceros), some small cracks in upper joint, faded partly damaged spine, minor foxing, annotation in ink on verso of first plate. Bookplate of James Keiller. And one more. 2 volumes.
