Second edition of a missionary work which to a large extent is based on Antoine du Montyon´s work published in 1811 under the title "Exposé statistique du Tunkin, de la Cochinchine, ... sur la relation de M. La Bissachère". La Bissachère (1764-1830) was a French missionary who arrived in Tonkin in 1790 where he remained for 17 years.
