Dark red full morocco, gilt frames, gilt inner frames, gilt edges of covers, gilt spine in six compartments, all edges gilt. (signed And(re)w Grieve Edinb).

This binding is the work of Andrew Grieve of Edinburgh, the teacher of Charles McLeish, who, for sixteen years, worked as a finisher at the Doves Bindery under the supervision of Cobden-Sanderson.
