LETTERS FROM FRENCH PHYSICIANS (11). Collection of 10 autograph letters signed by the French physicians, mostly 18th- and 19th-century, amongst others Paul Portal, Antoine Petit and Jean Astruc. 11 items.

Consists of the following:
Antoine Petit (1722-94, French physician at Orleans, author of Chirugical Anatomy), ALS, 1 page in 8vo, dated Paris February 24, 1784 (some spots).
Paul Portal (1630-1730, French gynecologist), ALS, 2 pages in 8vo, with address page, dated January 19, 1671, traces of red seals (folds, some spotting).
Pierre Simon Rouhault (French physician, active about 1720-43), ALS, 3 pages in 8vo, dated Turin, July 1729 (some minor spotting).
Pierre Salomon Ségalas d´Etchépare (1792-1875, French physician and urologist, one of the "co-inventors" of endoscopy), ALS, 2 pages in 8vo, address page (folds, some minor tears and spotting, traces of seal). Together with a medical certificate, 2 pages in 8vo on paper stamped "Timbre Royal", dated 1846.
Jean Thore (1762-1823, French botanist and physician), ALS, 1 page in 8vo with address page, dated 1806 (some spotting, paper loss to upper margin, stamps, folds).
Edme-Claude Bourru (1741-1823, French physician) ALS, 1 page in 8vo, dated Paris February 22, 1793
Roland Paul Arnaud, (French physician, surgeon to the king Louis XIV, died 1723), document signed, written on parchment with official stamp, in oblong 8vo, dated December 1706 (fold, soiling and spotting, small hole).
Amédée Latour (1805-82, French physician, journalist), ALS, 1 page in 8vo, undated, official stamps (spotted, some nagging, fold).
Bissou, 3 pages in 8vo and address page, seal, dated Paris 1809 (some inkspots).
Jean Astruc (1684-1766, French physician, personal physician to the kings of France and Poland, wrote the first thesis on venereal diseases), ALS, 1 page in small 8vo, no date.
And 1 letter to a M. Le Bru, in folio, dated Grenoble 1704 (damages to corner with some loss).
