Contemporary blindstamped pigskin over wooden boards, worn, clasps (one missing) and fittings of brass, blank spine in five compartments, some small damage at head, missing endpapers. Pp. 21-22, 29-30 and 213-214 mended with small loss of text, some other marginal mendings. Contemporary marginal annotations and underlinings to text. Old annotations on inside of covers and last blank page. Some minor foxing.
