12mo. 16,5 x 9 cm. (24), 732, (72) pp. Extra engraved title included in pagination. 1 folding engraved map (out of 3). 62 fullpage engraved portraits in text.
Contemporary vellum with green label on spine and sprinkled edges. Slightly worn. Some stains, margins soiled occasionally, enumeration with ink in top margin of the engraved portraits. Worming in bottom ofinner margin until p. 76. Cleansed owner´s signature in bottom margin of engraved extra title. Exlibris of Nils Fries on front board inside.
Third edition, the first (in folio) was printed in 1664. A 12mo edition was first published in 1672. A Swedish translation, employing the original plates, was printed as late as 1747.
NB! This copy lacks 2 of the maps (Sweden and Genua).
