Worn contemporary mottled full calf with gilt spine, minor holes in spine, worming on front board. Some negligible foxing. Faint damp in top corner pp. 333-340. Wormhole in top margin of the 2 last leaves. Library stamp of Soc. Jesu, Austria on title, hand-written label on front board inside.
All published of the second edition.
First edtion of Gravesande´s (1688-1742) work was printed in 1720-21. His carefully designed experiments were of some importance for the acceptance of Newtonian physics.
