8vo. 18 x 12 cm. (26), (1)-389, (1), (32), (1)-384, (14), (1)-286, 289-389, 400-414, (36), (1)-285, 288-341, (1 blank) pp. 10 partly folding plates (all), 1 mounted engraved vignette in volume I.
Contemporary brown half leather, worn, 1 volume darker brown, gilt spines in six compartments, 1 spine faded and with some damage at head, sprinkled edges. Some minor foxing and a few stains, mainly in first part. Difficult to read signatures (possibly G.G....) on half titles and on front board insides, exlibris stamp of Hugo Fröding (with the device "Multa non multum") on first endpapers. Spine of first voume stating "I. II. del", the second "II. III. del". 2 volumes.

Famous travels by Linnaean disciple Carl Peter Thunberg (1743-1828), filled with observations on geology, botany, anthropology, culture, trade, language etc.
