GEORGE I (1660 -1727) , King of Great Britain and Ireland from 1 August 1714 until his death, and ruler of the Duchy and Electorate of Brunswick-Lüneburg (Hanover) in the Holy Roman Empire from 1698.
Pass for the Prince of Hessen-Cassel to go to Sweden, signed by the King, dated May 25 1716, ink on vellum about 430x580 mm. Missing seal. Some staining and foxing.

Also signed by (Charles) Townshend (1674-1738, secretary of state).
The pass with a long specification of the prince´s luggage.
