Contemporary full calf with gilt spines and red edges. Worn, heads of spines somewhat defective, a couple of cracks in hinges. Clean texts.

Carlo Dedina (1731-1813), Italian historian and librarian. The publication of his Delle rivoluzioni... made him many enemies and in 1782 he moved to Berlin, invited by Frederick the Great. He ended his days in Paris, having been called to the post of Imperial Librarian by Napoleon in 1804.
