Folio (about 550x360 mm.). Half-title, title, Table des planches, 28 engraved plates (all, partly foxed).
Somewhat later blue halfcloth, slightly worn, spine lettered in gilt, some damages at head and foot, ebdpapers with some damages in inner margin. Some foxing. Signature of C. Skottsberg on first endpaper and with his library stamp on title.
Carl Skottsberg (1880 - 1963), Swedish botanist and explorer of Antarctica. He was conservator at the Uppsala University Botanical Museum 1909 to 1914, but led the work on the new Botanical Garden in Gothenburg from 1915, and was appointed professor and director of the garden there, Göteborg Botanical Garden, in 1919.
