Small 8vo (c. 180x135). 16 pp. With folding plate with four illustrations, a few illustrations in text. Original wrapper by Theo van Doesburg (partly worn and soiled, lower wrapper loose, minor spotting).
The first and only issue of this periodical by the artist´s group ´Art Concret´, founded in 1929 by Theo van Doesburg. The term Concrete Art was introduced by van Doesburg in his 1930 Manifesto of Concrete Art, which was published in this magazine ("Base de la peinture concrete" and "Commentaires sur la base de la peinture concrete"). He stated that there was nothing more concrete or more real than a line, a colour, or a plane (a flat area of colour). Its members included Otto Gustav Carlsund, Jean Helion, Leon Arthur Tutundjian and Marcel Wantz.
