8vo. 170 x 155 mm. (22, 2 blank), 1167 pp. Yellowed and somewhat worn contemporary blindtooled pigskin over boards, all edges red. Clasps missing. Recurring dampstains, some notes in margins, a few underlinings. Owner´s signature of Hans Ulander on front board inside, older on title. Handwritten index on rear fly leaf.

First part of 3. Simon Pauli the Elder (1534-1591) was a German theologian who studied for Melanchton at Wittenberg and later became pastor in Rostock and dean of the town´s university.

Provenance: From the library of the dean in Linköping, Ove Hassler (1904-1987) and of his son Eivind Hassler (1939-2009).
