Small 4:o (about 193x131 mm.). (32), (1)-612, (3), 4-251, (1 blank), (6), (1)-224, (74) pp. Head-title within wide figurative woodcut border and with woodcut printer´s device (spotted and foxed), 2 part-titles and last page with woodcut printer´s device, 3 woodcut maps (2 folding and laid down with some repairs on one, the not folding damaged in outer part with some pictorial loss), about 190 woodcuts in text by T. Stimmer.
Later (19th century brown half leather, worn, upper cover with damaged doublure, crack in upper joint, faded gilt spine , marbled edges. Partly cut in upper or outer margins with partial loss of rubrication, pagination or marginalia. About 10 leaves with marginal tears or smaller damages, partly dampstained in the margins, at end harder dampstained in inner margin. Some marginal annotations.Old signatures on first endpaper.
VD 16 B2644. First edition of the bible with the small suite of Stimmer´s nice woodcuts. They were first published in a book with rhymes of J. Fischart in Basel 1576.
