Oblong folio. 260 x 360 mm. (27) engraved leaves (of 30, 3 missing). Sewn as issued, with plain paper strip as spine. Dampstains throughout, minor stains and spots, short tears at edges. Last leaf with minor repairs.

Oblong folio. 232 x 325 mm. 50 lithographed leaves. Somewhat worn and stained publisher´s clothspine with lithographed front board. Inner front hinge cracked. Some foxing, more on plates 20, 21, 24, 25, 36 and 37.

Francois Desmoulins (1570-1650) was a French master of public letter-writing, born in Moulins. His Le paranimphe... with examples of elaborate calligraphy for public letters, licences etc. ws printed in 1615. This is the second edition.
Köhler´s work first appeared in 1851-52, in 9 parts.
