Made by Nehemjah Grew M.D. Fellow of the Royal Society, and of the Colledge of Physitians. Whereunto is Subjoyned the Comparative Anatomy of Stomachs and Guts. By the Same Author. London, printed by W. Rawlins, for the author, 1681.
4to. 313 x 194 mm. (12), 386, (2), (2 blank, 2), 43 pp. Engraved portrait and 31 engraved plates, of which 1 folding. Later (19th century) calfspine with cloth boards. Dampstain in upper part, mainly margin, throughout. A few word crossed-out and corrected with ink.Paper repair at edge of portrait (outside plate border) and in margin p. 335. Tear at top of plates 2 and 3.

The portrait is of Daniel Colwal[l], treasurer of the society and founder of its museum. Nehemiah Grew (1641-1712), English physician and one of the founders of plant anatomy. He was named secretary of the Royal Society in 1677.
