12mo. 170 x 102 mm. iii-xii, 378 pp. Illustrations in the text. Engraved portrait, engraved title, 8 woodcut plates and 1 folding woodcut map. Black morocco with gilt spine and boards, all edges gilt (Gosden, according to annotations). Some wear to hinges and corners. A few minor stains. Owner´s signature on front fly leaf.
The first edition was published in 1814, an ninth was published in 1841.
