Small quarto (200 x 170 mm. Title, contents, list of illustrations, 206, (2) pp & 15 tipped-in albumen photographs (size c. 80x85 mm).
Original brown blindpressed cloth with title and decorations in gilt at the front, back and spine. Gilt edges.

An early example of a book illustrated with tipped in photographs. Sir Walter Scott´s famous
poem Marmion was first published in 1808 and remained very popular throughout the 19th century. The photographs were executed by the Glasgow photographer Thomas Annan.
Scarce edition.
