Engraved map of the Arctic Circle and North Pole, with title cartouche surrounded by wind heads, text panel describing the Northern lights which are also illustrated, c. 445x661 mm. Slight folds near centrefold, some dampstains to lower margin, some soiling to right part. Framed.

Interesting map of the North Pole. The American place names are given by English explorers, especially Hudson, Baffin and Davis, with Italian translation by Coronelli. The European and Asian Arctic regions are given Dutch names from Barentz, Linschoten and others, with dates of their discoveries. All other text in Italian.
