Contemporary black half calf, spine with gilt-lettered title, partly worn and rubbed. Title with repaired tear, text with some foxing.

Nissen 2983. First edition.
Alexander von Nordmann (1803-1866), Finnish biologist who studied parasitology for Karl Rudolphi in Berlin. In 1832 he became professor in Odessa and later the director of Odessa Botanical Garden. Nordmann became professor in zoology and botany at the Imperial Alexander University in Helsinki in 1849.
