Originally published in 1830. Scott composed the work while recovering from a paralytic stroke on the suggestion by his son-in-law.
Provenance: Sten Ringselle (1949-2017), Swedish antiquarian bookdealer who in 1992 opened his shop Antiquaria in Gothenburg.
