8vo. 210 x 123 mm. (2), XL, 332 pp. Frontispiece portrait, title with vignette, numerous wood engravings in the text. Thomas and John Bewick. Later (late 19th century) half calf with gilt spine with lightbrown label, marbled boards, vellum corners, all edges brown. Slight foxing on frontispiece, otherwise a clean copy.
