Map of Europe, in which each country contains a caricature of its military personnel, national symbols or stereotypes. Great Britain is a man accompanied by a bulldog and snake. Belgium is a fist crushing a soldier. France is an infantryman running away from flying artillery shells. Spain and Morocco are sleeping men. Italy is a partially nude, sleeping woman. Germany is a leaping man, accompanied by an eagle. Austria is a lion firing an artillery gun and a two-headed eagle clutching a sword. Russia is a bear and wolves, surrounded by scenes of social unrest. Ireland, the Netherlands and Scandinavia are represented by civilians. Finland, the Adriatic nations and Portugal are represented by various soldiers. (Imperial War Museum).
