Original box with printed text (about 300x430 mm), partly worn, some creases and bumped corners, containing 2 "Combinationoriginalhandpaintings [Kombinationsoriginalhandmålningar], with 53 (usally 35) loose partly illustrated prints in different sizes and colours and a few items (a lottery ticket, folding paper movies and a small man made of liqorice). In good condition and complete. All housed in a black cloth box, partly soiled.

The famous "Boulevardkartongen Tvångs-Blandaren", from 1955, was edited by the student periodical "Blandaren", and among the editors a young Pontus Hultén, from 1960 head of the Modern Museum of Art in Stockholm. Many Swedish artists were involved, P. O. Ultvedt, Tore Hultcrantz and Ulf Lovén, together with the photographer Tor Ivan Odulf. It refers to dadaist art.
This item had a seminal influence on George Maciunas and the so-called "Fluxus boxes". He used this box-issue as a model for his different kits.
Provenance: This "Boulevardkartongen" has belonged to a former editior of the magazine Blandaren in the 1950ies.
