Hand-coloured (old colour) engraved map with figurative cartouche including sphinx, monkey and a sea monster, ships and sea beasts in colours. Size c. 360x490 mm. Latin text on verso. Map laid down on thin paper. Centrefold with slight wear, split in lower fold, slight spotting.

One of the most charming maps of Scandinavia, first published in 1570.
