MODERN ART POSTCARDS (7). 7 original postcards in black and white from the exhibition: Erster Deutscher Herbstsalon 1913 (Herwarth Walden).

Unwritten, only slight soiling and wear to corners, Kokoschka partly creased and browned, some staining.
Erster Deutscher Herbstsalon was an international exhibition which opened the 20. September 1913 in Berlin. It was arranged by the magazin "Der Sturm" (1910-32) and the editor Herwarth Walden. Bernhard Köhler contributed with 4000 Mark to the exhibition.
"Der Erste Deutsche Herbstsalon" formed the European counterpart to the famous "Armory Show" (International Exhibition of Modern Art), which had been shown in New York in the spring of 1913. Decades later, most of the artists who had participated in the "First German Autumn Salon" became classics of the modern age: Archipenko, Chagall, Ernst, Feininger, Jawlensky, Klee, Kokoschka, Léger, Macke, Marc or Picabia.
The titles are: Kokoschka, "Utinam delectet!", Léger "Nacktes Modell im Atelier", Chagall, "Meiner Braut gewidmet", "Christus gewidmet" and "Bild", Kandinsky "Komposition 6", Archpenko, "Recherche de plastique de 1913".
