Large 4to (280x210 mm.). Richly illustrated with numerous full-page colour-printed and black and white plates, inserted specimens, and mounted plates. With original printed wrappers.
Brown cloth binding from about 1940-50, slightly worn, faded spine with title label. Slightly trimmed with some textloss in upper and lower part of wrappers.

With contributions by Hohlwein, Schnackenberg, F. Heubner, E. Preetorius, J. Ussy, K. Arnold, K. Gröning and W. Kampmann.

Fine and important German periodical on poster and advertising material. The illustrations represents the major German artists of the era, and also include work by French, English and American artists.
Das Plakat was first published in 1910 and ended in 1922. It was founded by the dentist Hans Josef Sachs. He also owned a large collection of posters which where later confiscated by the Nazi government, some survived and can today be seen at the Berlin Museum of the German history.
