PHOTOGRAPHS OF JAPAN. 50 hand-coloured albumen prints of Japan, c. 1890, size about 200x250 mms. Almost all photographs with printed text and loosely inset on boards in an album. Most photographs with inventory number and typed caption label in English (some faded and with some foxing and wearing, a few with glue / paper traces to outer part or corner, 2 damaged with loss of image).
Album in oblong folio (about 270x350 mms). Contemporary japanese decorated cloth binding, partly worn.

Photographs of landscapes, street and city scenes, temples, a.o. Kobe, Mount Fuji, Nagasaki, Hakone, Kyoto, Kobe, Tokyo, Nikko, geishas. Some photographes by A. Farsari.
