4:o. (5), VI-XI, (1), (1)-480 pp. 11 aquatinta engraved plates in sepia (of which one folding [St. Petersburg], Stockholm with some spotting to margin, some foxing or soiling to margins).
Contemporary brown full calf, worn and restored with new gilt spine. Title and a few of the first leaves soiled and with some foxing, text with soiling and / or foxing mostly to margins, some minor tears to margins. Bookplate Nils G. Ahlin.

Provenance: Nils G. Ahlin (Ulriksfors, Sweden, owned the largest private book collection in north of Sweden, about 6000 volumes).
Erik Hallqvist, Östersund (born 1887), bookstore (the grandfather of the current owner), had a bookshop since 1907. He bought Ahlin´s collection in 1942 and was interviewed in Östersund-Posten on January 28: "The public may have an idea of the size of the collection, when I mention that I needed 14 fully loaded taxis to get the books home".
