Hand-coloured (old colour) engraved map with figurative cartouche including sphinx, monkey and a sea monster, ships and sea beasts in colours. About 365x495 mm. Latin edition with Latin text on verso. Centrefolding with slight wear.

Van den Broecke 160.1 (L45). Early edition without the 8 names in the Polar areas.

One of the most charming maps of Scandinavia, first published in 1570.
