DICKENS. FIRST EDITION IN THE ORIGINAL PARTS. Little Dorrit. 20 monthly parts in 19 as issued. London (Bradbury and Evans) 1855-57 (December, 1855 - June, 1857).
8:o (about 225x145 mm.). Engraved frontispiece, engraved extra title (dated 1857), 38 engraved plates H. K. Browne (all, 8 "dark plates", some minor foxing).
In original partly worn wrappers, some damages to spines, mostly at foot, lower wrapper to part X with damaged upper outer corner, upper wrapper to part XI, XIV and XIX/XX with damages in upper outer corner, some other minor marginal wearings.
In later cloth folders and two olive green crushed levant morocco cases.

The genuine first edition and first issue containing the slip in part XVI at p. 481 correcting the errors in part XV (Rigaud instead of Blandois). All advertisements according to Hatton and Cleaver.
Provenance: Sten Ringselle (1949-2017), Swedish antiquarian bookdealer who in 1992 opened his shop Antiquaria in Gothenburg.
