8:o (about 233x152 mm.). Original watercolour to the first blank signed with initials JL, colour frontispiece signed in full by the artist John Lawrence, illustrations throughout in colour or black and white. Folding colour map at end.
Original dark green crushed morocco by Sangorski and Sutcliffe, spine in five compartments with titles to second and third in gilt, fleurons to first and fifth and rabbit motifs to fourth and sixth in gilt, gilt rabbit vignette to upper board, gilt inner borders, gilt edges, green and yellow endbands. Original marbled slipcase. Number 163 of 250 specially bound and signed copies of the first illustrated edition of Adam´s first novel, signed by both the author and illustrator.
