ANTIQUARIAN BOOK CATALOGUES (C. 850). Lot containing c. 850 antiquarian book catalogues from the working library of antiquarian bookdealer Björn Löwendahl.
From Swedish and international antiquarian bookdealers, reflecting Löwendahl´s interests such as learning, history of science, science, travels, rare books and manuscripts etc. Mainly 20th and 21st century.
In varying condition, some with Löwendahl´s annotations. Not collated.
A large part of the lot contains special catalogues on Asian travels and Sino-European relations, subjects Löwendahl presented in his great catalogue "China Illustrata Nova" or "Sino-Western Relations, Conceptions of China, Cultural Influences and the Development of Sinology Disclosed in Western Printed Books 1477-1877" in 2 volumes (2008) and with a supplement (2012). Löwendahl also acquired Antikvariat Björck & Börjesson, one of Sweden´s most important establishments, and published catalogues under its name 1976-94. Some of these and older B&B catalogues in this lot.
