Author stated as "Le sire de Chambley (Edmond H...)". Impressum reads: "Imprimé sous le manteau et ne se vend nulle part".
Originally published in 1882, the plate designs have been attributed to, among others, Félicien Rops, Nicolas Sternberg and Martin van Maele.
