Nice contemporary quarter calf binding with vellum corners and marbled boards, slight wear, spine gilt, black title label gilt. First few leaves partly dampstained, some creases.

This is the first edition of Wagner´s book on conducting. It was published simultaneously 1869 in "Neue Zeitschrift für Musik" and the "New-Yorker Musik-Zeitung". Later translated into English with the title "On conducting: A treatise on style in the execution of classical music".
