Small 8:o (about 130x80 mm.). (12), 1-407, (1 blank), (10), 1-110 pp. Title with woodcut vignette (later coloured). Printed music.
Contemporary blindtooled vellum, worn, spine in four compartments, remnants of manuscript title label in upper field, damaged at foot, red edges. Some foxing. Some marginal annotations and underlinings to text. Ols annotations and signatures on endpapers and on inside of boards. Stamped bookplate of Roman Kaczmar.

George Buchanan, (1506-1582), Scottish Humanist, educator, and man of letters, who was an eloquent critic of corruption and inefficiency in church and state during the period of the Reformation in Scotland. He was also known throughout Europe as a scholar and a Latin poet. (Encyclop. Brit.).
