8vo. 250 x 165 mm. XX, 599 pp. 52 plates of which 4 woodcut and 48 chromo lithographed. Woodcut illustrations in the text. Slightly worn green later half calf with gilt spine, marbled boards with gilt filets and marbled edges (G. Hedberg). Spine and top of boards faded toi light brown. Some minor stains, some faint foxing. 2 volumes.

Provenance: Nils G. Ahlin (Ulriksfors, Sweden, owned the largest private book collection in north of Sweden, about 6000 volumes).
Erik Hallqvist, Östersund (born 1887, the grandfather of the current owner), had a bookshop since 1907. He bought Ahlin´s collection in 1942 and was interviewed in Östersund-Posten on January 28: "The public may have an idea of the size of the collection, when I mention that I needed 14 fully loaded taxis to get the books home".
