8:o (about 210x130 mm.). (3), IV-XII, (5), 6-55, (1 blank), (3), 4-56, (3), 4-45, (1 blank), (8) pp. Engraved extra title (soiled and spotted), 2 engraved plates, 6 engravings in text.
Later (20th century) green half leather, marbled boards, blank spine. Some foxing or light staining. One page with mended tear. Inscription on first endpaper.
Text in Russian. Probably lacking one engraved portrait and one plate.
I. I. Khemnister (1745-1784), Served in the Russian army, consul general in Smyrna. Some of his fables first published in 1779. A collection i 3 parts, The Fables and Tales (in Russian), first published posthumously in 1799.
