Folio (307x180 mm.). 2 engraved extra titles, 1 engraved frontispiece portrait of the author (engraved title to part I worn and shaved with some loss of text and letters, some tape repairs, tears and creases to outer part and margin), 6 folding engraved plates (complete, first plate with spotting, 1 plate with one small hole, 1 with repair in corner, 1 with small tear in the folding, small hole and marginal paperloss, minor foxing).
Brown contemporary full leather, partly worn, some cracks in the joints, spine in six compartments with gilt label, some damages and small repair at head. Title to part I worn and shaved with some loss of text and letters, text of part II closely cut in outer margin with loss of a few numbers in the pagination. Some foxing and spotting. Library stamp to margin on dedication leaf (Duplicate Bridgew. Lib.).
