Later (late 19th century) brown half leather binding, sparsely gilt spine in six compartments, upper edge gilt, otherwise uncut. Half-title somewhat discoloured. Signature on first endpaper P.-E.-L. London 1996 (Per-Erik Lindahl), and one other. Bookplate of W. F. Irvine and Lars C. Stolt. .

This manual of the components of heraldic devices contains over 500 examples of escutcheons and arms, interspersed with the allegorical significance of several species of bird, fish, and beasts. Originally published in 1765.
