(4), (5), VI-XVI, (5), VI-390, (2, last blank), (3), 4-404, (2, last blank) pp. Frontispiece wood - engraved by François, a lithographic portrait of Schmid, 20 full - page lithographs partly on tinted paper (of 21, one missing), wood - engraved vignettes in the text after Gavarni, and two illustrated partitions of music (foxed), each in 2 leaves.
Contemporary black half leatherr, worn, spine in five compartments. First endpaper, half-title and frontispiece partly loose, 3 leaves with inkstains. 2 signatures on first endpaper, annotation by Sven Stolpe in pencil..
