Large folding engraved world map with outline colour, decoative cartouche, c. 500x695 mm. (small tear to one fold, some spotting and offsetting). After A. W. Knoch, engraved by J. Marianus, in Augsburg).
Uncommon thematic world map depicting the geographical distribution of quadrupeds. The large chart is presented on Mercator´s projection and shows an early form of Alaska, a massive Baffin Bay and a still incomplete Australia with Tasmania attached to the mainland.
