At the end of vol. II is a 164-pp "Discours sur la Mythologie", in which Ramsay demonstrates that all the sages of the world had some notions, each in his own way, and more or less clearly, about a God creating the universe, of a golden age and a fall from grace by the sins of the first men, but a hope for a redeemer who would restore the original harmony. There are three pages about the mythology of the Chinese.
