Contemporary dark blue half morocco, slightly worn, boards with marbled paper within gilt frames, nicely gilt spine with flower ornaments and portrait of an old Hugo, upper edge gilt, otherwise uncut. Edition printed in 350 numbered copies (of 500) on papier vélin du Marais, this is number 171, signed L.G. (the editor).

At end withbound a prospect of the book, 4 pages with 2 engraved vignettes and one engraved plate after Adrien Moreau engraved by Champollion.
