First edition and continuation of "Men of mark" (1913) with 33 tipped in photographic plates by Coburn of Thomas Hardy, Ezra Pound, Frank Harris, Augustus John, Jacob Epstein, Edmund Dulac, Maurice Maeterlinck, Yone Noguchi, Wyndham Lewis, Joseph Conrad, Marshal Foch, and Coburn himself.
Coburn (1882-1966) was an American photographer famous initially for his portraits from an elevated point of view.
