4to. C. 300 x 230 mm. XVIII, (6), 492, (4), 535, (1 blank, 19) pp. 3 folding engraved maps. Uncut, partly unopened in worn paper boards, front board loose on volume I, no spines. Text and maps clean. 2 volumes.
A third volume was issued for this edition. First edition appeared in 1777, many followed this one. Maps engrave by Thomas Kitchin senior, who himself published a history of the West Indies in 1778.
