4to. 225 x 173 mm. XV, (1), 282 pp. Title printed with red and black. Slightly worn comntemporary half calf with raised bands, gilt spine, sprinkled boards and edges. Title spotted and stained. A few minor stains, but overall a clean copy, printed on fine paper. Exlibris of Björn Bexelius.
Guarini´s pastoral drama abouth the faithful shepherd (inspired by Torquato Tasso´s ´Aminta´) was originally printed in 1590, spread and admired in numerous editions and translations long after the author´s death in 1612.
