There is a note on Robert Morrison and the London Missionary Society´s plan "to send two or more missionaires to the Prince of Wales´ Island, with a view to the translation of the Holy Scripture into the Chinese language, and to a mission to the emperor of China" on p. 559.
The Panoplist (under somewhat different titles) was from 1805 the official publication of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions. It was by far the most important source of information about the China mission and was frequently cited as being a leading authority on China by the lay press.
